Online Roulette

Roulette is a gambling game where the croupier spins a ball and it lands randomly anywhere among thirty six numbers along with the 0 and/or 00 depending on what game you are playing. There are a bunch of different bets you can make in this game, such as betting a number straight up, betting on two adjacent numbers, betting odd/even or red/black, or betting a group of 12 numbers 1-12 or 13-24. Each of these bets has different payouts that correspond roughly to the probability of the shot hitting. Great Game, and you are able to play Online Roulette from your desktop, or on the go on your smartpone or tablet device.

Types of Roulette

There are many different types of roulette. There is an actual brick and mortar roulette, like you would find in a casino, but you can also play live dealer roulette, where they hook a video feed up to an actual roulette table and you can place bets on it from your computer. There is also virtual roulette, which is a computer program that replicates the classic gambling. Within these categories there are other variations on the classic game, such as American, European, and French Roulette. American roulette has both a zero, a double zero, and the presence of the extra zero increases the house edge significantly. European roulette has only one zero and is a much better choice because the house edge is almost half as much. With American roulette the house edge is 5.26% for most bets and for European roulette the house edge is 2.70%. French roulette is like European roulette in that it has the thirty six numbers and the single zero but an interesting twist in this game is that if you bet odd/even or red/black and the ball lands on 0 you only lose half your bet. This cuts the house edge in half making French roulette a much better game.

Roulette Variants

Aside from these different types of roulette, there are also variants in the way the game is dealt. For example, speed roulette is played in a more rapid fire fashion, allowing players to make more bets over a shorter period of time, or dual play roulette that allows people online to play with people in a casino. Other live dealer variants are immersive roulette, which uses multiple camera angles and slow motion replays to enhance the experience, and double ball roulette, where there are two balls, so you have twice as many chances to win. Live dealer roulette games also display detailed statistics on what has been hitting lately, so you know what numbers are hot.

How to Play Roulette

Roulette is a very simple game to play, all you have to do is make a bet and hope that the ball lands on your number. If you bet a number straight up, for example betting on five to hit, then this pays 35:1, so if you bet $5 and you hit it, you get paid $175. You can also bet on the zero to hit, but try not to celebrate too loudly if you do hit it because the rest of the people at the table won’t be very happy. Betting a number straight up can be very profitable but it is also hard to hit it because there are so many other numbers the ball can land on. Another type of bet you can make is to red or black. With red or black the ball just needs to land on any whatever colour you bet. You will have an almost even money chance of winning and if you do hit it, you get paid 1:1, so you win however much you wagered.

Another even money wager is odds or even, when you are betting on whether the ball will land on an odd number or an even number. You can also bet groups of twelve numbers, such as 1-12, 13-24, or 25-36. These bets pay out 2:1, so if you bet $10 you would make $20 profit if you hit it. You can also bet on high or low. High or low is another even money bet that pays 1:1. If you bet high you are hoping for 19-36 and if you bet low you want 1-18.

Columns are another type of roulette bet. There are three columns on a roulette table.

Column 1: 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 28, 31, 34

Column 2: 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20, 23, 26, 29, 32, 35

Column 3: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30, 33, 36

Column bets also pay out 2:1, so if you bet $15 you would get $30 in profit if you hit any of your numbers.

Another type of wager is a street bet, where you want a row of three numbers such as 7, 8, 9 or 10, 11, 12.

You can also make corner bets, where you split your wager between four numbers, such as 4, 5, 7, 8 or 10, 11, 13, 14. You just place your betting chip right in the middle of all four numbers so that it is touching all of them, and if any of these numbers come up you get paid 4:1.
